When the bad weather hits do you stay inside or do you run out into it? I feel like that is a relevant discussion these days!

Fortunately my camera gear is pretty weather-proof, which is good as I (in typical years) hike a lot. Like I said above, I guess I lack motivation to shoot in storms. I look for Typical Portland, not Atypical Portland.

That's fair. I've sometimes caught brilliant light just before a storm and that can make shots look very dramatic and pretty! I tend to go for both typical and atypical photographs of my area, depending on when the mood and light strikes.

Storm lighting is magical! Here we have such bad storm tracking that when one is coming in I am usually inside wondering if it's going to be 0 inches or 85 inches and if it's going to hit now or two days from now.
